The CDE website says, “STEM Education provides a venue for the transformation of teaching and learning by integrating content and the skills of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Engaging students in 21st century practices through inquiry, critical thinking and reasoning, collaboration, invention, and information literacy through STEM education directly impacts their ability to succeed by mastering and transferring concepts within STEM disciplines and across all content areas.”

STEM is in the Specials rotation at Greenwood 3 days a week. Students participate in a variety activities allowing for critical thinking to solve real world problems. Students will be exposed to Legos, robotics, Computer Science and Coding.​


Philosophy and Goals:  

"The real strength of technology in education comes from using the right technology at the right time to meet the right objective" (CEO Forum, 1999) This quote exemplifies the vision that Greenwood elementary has for technology. At Greenwood, we use technology as a tool, helping us to enhance student learning. We strive to use technology to help make learning active, enjoyable and rewarding. We value the interdependence between curriculum and technology. Integration of technology into the curriculum is our primary focus.
